Site design and preferences
As you can see, the current site design is the generic default. I'll address this when I get a chance, with an image/logo and a colour scheme. If you're into design and would like to have a go, let me know. Otherwise I'll get it done in the next week or so.
Re: Site design and preferences
I've never designed a web site and am a complete technoputz, but I am a painter. I imagine a deep, rich color for the header bar - maybe ultramarine blue, love-potion burgundy or Fafner-forest green - and a contrasting color (Rhinegod yellow?) in a dramatic, magical font for the "Talk Wagner" heading, suggesting something medieval, Teutonic, Celtic or legendary. Some Wagnerian mythology-themed graphics in the header and the left margin would give the site character and attract viewers and members: spears, dragons, swans, the Grail, runes, T & I getting it on, etc. Is that sort of thing feasible?

Oh Parsifal! Please tell me this is tongue-in-cheek! I'm more of a database guy with barely an artistic bone in my body. But I'll get something done for sure.

I've changed the redirects so that www.talkwagner.com and talkwagner.com will go straight to the forum. As it stands I have no plans for anything other than the forum.

Re: Site design and preferences
So I had a little mishap when creating the necessary forums, and lost data from one, which I'll recreate, but this is now the first live version. Let me know if the layout and forum choice is adequate. I'd like to add an image to the logo but haven't had time yet.
Tomorrow I'll prepare a few help sections, such as how to upload or link pictures, YouTubes and avatars.
Let me know what you think.

It is looking good. My only problem is the white text on light brown such as in the forum category headers is hard to read because there is not much contrast. Black letters on the light brown would work better for me. But I can work with it either way.

Yes, I'm conscious of the colour scheme, and will wait to see whether we get to like it or hate it. It seems a little unusual. Because the style comes as a bundle with these colours, it'll take a little rifling through the code to find the necessary data to amend. I'll probably take a further look at other available style packs, many of which you'd surely hate as much as I did when I tried them!
Re: Site design and preferences
Will we have the ability to "like" a post? I do enjoy that option

Re: Site design and preferences
So where do we post about recordings of Wagner operas? In THE OPERAS subforum? Or should there be a separate subforum titled RECORDINGS or something like that?
Well I guess I already did that with my complete cycles of the Ring thread. No matter, if you decide for a new subforum for recordings, that thread can be moved there.
